Bad optics and unethical behavior. Wikileaks means DNC senior staff need to resign

Last edited Tue Aug 2, 2016, 06:22 PM - Edit history (2)

ASAP to get this out of the news. I expect that to happen shortly, before the convention begins.

Unethical behavior such as feeding news stories, or even thinking about doing so, that favor one candidate over the other is unacceptable. The senior people at the DNC should know better.

If there is anything positive about the Wikileaks, it will be to quell the conspiracy theories related to vote switching, etc, since it's apparent that the DNC staffers were clueless about communications-- if such unlikely behavior was engaged in, it would be in the emails for sure. And there is not even a hint of it.

Update 8/2/16: Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned last week and today, DNC CEO Amy Dacey stepped down in addition to communications director Luis Miranda and CFO Brad Marshall.

Will make Trump and the Republicans more gleeful then to see a disunited Democratic Party.
That they can turn around and use this against us
because Putin supported WikiLeaks and emails.......

3. Why would DNC staffers be in the loop?

If there were other sit going on the staffers would be kept in the dark.

6. I thought the now disproven conspiracy theory is that the DNC was switching votes

That somehow they had infiltrated the various state polling apparatuses or had secret software. Well if they were really doing this, then there at least some of their most senior people would know and discuss their "successes" or "problems" that would have inevitably arisen. That clearly is not the case, from the emails so far released, essentially disproving this conspiracy.

There's enough evidence that our primary election process has problems with reliability to mandate an investigation.

16. Maybe disproven is too strong a word, "unlikely" is a better one.

Having the email dumps will help in any investigations, surely.

Enough to warrant an investigation?

18. Sure an investigation is useful

To really clear the air about what happened. I believe there are lawsuits, with the power of subpoena, in progress that should aid in any investigations. But the emails unintentionally already help remove suspicion from the DNC.

It would be best if the DNC would have all people involved in the scandalous emails resign after the convention. We need to move on to get behind the candidate but we need to resolve the scandal.

As expected the director/chairwoman of the DNC has resigned. Some of her key lieutenants are almost sure to follow. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10141529280
