LEAD POINT POLICE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IN A COLD MISSING PERSON CASE

Back on August 26, 2015, FNN wrote an article on a cold missing person case, as family members were reaching out to newspapers and social media news pages to fan a fire under the case of their missing loved one. Nieko Anthony Lisi of Jasper NY was only 18 years old when he disappeared back on September 30, 2011. According to his family in New York, during an interview with FNN, Lisi was last seen in that state with a friend. However, another report listed that Lisi was last seen on October 1, 2011 on Flintlock Drive in Franklin, Tennessee. Which is also the same date that Lisi's family last spoke to him on his cell phone.

The news of the report that Lisi's truck was found in the same area that the family told FNN about back in 2015 and was the same area that others said police should check in on, was a shock to the Lisi family and his close friends. ... During a press conference on Thursday, July 21, 2016, New York State Police Investigator, Eric Hurd stated that there were persons of interest that police were going to be interviewing.

This all came about after a lead pointed the Franklin Police Department and NY State Police investigators in the right direction to a middle Tennessee home in Franklin. There police found Lisi's 2004 GMC Canyon truck stripped down in a locked garage on that property. ... Lisi's truck was processed by a forensic team in hopes that it will produce more evidence and new leads for them in their case on Nieko Lisi.

As for Lisi's family, well they have heard from police that the discovery of the vehicle increases the possibility of foul play in the disappearance of Nieko Lisi. The family simply want answers and they have never given up hope in their fight to find their loved over the last 5 years.

Four months after an 18-year-old New York man disappeared while traveling with a friend — a friend who later turned up dead — his family continues to desperately try to raise awareness about the case. ... There are no suspects, no motive and few leads to follow in the disappearance of Nieko Lisi. ... “It’s like he just vanished off the face of the Earth,” Lisi’s aunt, Rachael Davis, told The Huffington Post.

Not only are Lisi’s whereabouts a mystery, Davis said national media has ignored repeated requests by the family to cover her nephew’s case. ... “We have not had any luck [getting national coverage],” Davis said. “You never hear anything in the news about [missing] males.”

Lisi lives in Jasper, N.Y., about 40 miles from Elmira. The college town is where Jessica “Jessie” Ronhock, a 21-year-old nursing student, disappeared in January. ... According to Davis, Lisi was en route to Buffalo when he disappeared. He was last seen around 2 p.m. Sept. 30, when he and a friend, Robert Knight, 20, stopped at Lisi’s uncle’s home in Addison, N.Y.
