stage made me break down and sob. It was the perfect ending.
I do believe he just got her elected. A true history lesson on
what it really means to be an American. Blown_away.
I'm saving this speech. Completely bowled me over.

(29,067 posts)He's just a truly special man...I'm so glad he and Michelle are buying a house in DC....He may be leaving office,
but I'm sure he'll continue to be in the public eye for a very long time.

(51,666 posts)I am hoping that Hillary puts him on the Supreme Court after that so he stays in the area because he is a national treasure.

(29,067 posts)he's already rejected the idea..said he'd feel too 'cloistered' or something.
He'll.be around, though..He's got too much all around charm, brains & wit for the media to ignore.

Then again, if Hillary nominates him to the Supreme Court he will have to stick around. Wouldn't that be justice for the Republicans who held the seat vacant for over a year?
Except then he couldn't speak at our conventions anymore.

(3,784 posts)He said that he's seen the 4 best convention speeches of his lifetime, and they were all delivered by Barack Obama.
Really, can we just elect him again? I'm not ready for him to leave.

His 2004 DNC speech in Boston, where a President was born.
His 2008 DNC speech in Colorado, where a President was elected.
His 2012 DNC speech in Charlotte, where he was re-elected.
And now, his 2016 DNC speech in Philadelphia, where he got the first woman elected as President.
Also, the great speeches by soon to be Madam President Hillary Clinton.
Furthermore, not to forget, the very many great speeches by Bernie Sanders, who ignited a political revolution, from which America will greatly benefit. Some of it soon. Some of it a little later, and .... some of it maybe frustratingly much later, but still will happen.
It is up to us to not only help President Obama pass the baton to Hillary Clinton, but also include our TRUE Bernie Sanders supporters and Democrats keep the revolution going.
Liberals and progressives of all areas of the Democratic spectrum.

(1,907 posts)Even just smaller things when he addresses things happening there is a clarity a calmness to him. Even under immense pressure. The trust worthiness that I have felt he has shown during his presidency is just... A man I admire for what he believes in.

(35,015 posts)His speech was optimistic, uplifting, powerful, and nonpartisan...even conservatives liked it! It wasn't just the words either - it was HIM, and what he conveyed to all of us - that he really does care.
