I think I'm getting a little confused between Trump's use of Believe me and Unbelievable.

Do you think he just has a couple of cards in his pocket with these two common responses that he just sorta peeks at and then says???

So for instance:
Obama wasn't born here, is that a 'Believe me' or an 'Unbelievable'

I find it so weird that no matter what the context, he refers to one of these two responses. And you know, I really never even considered how much or how little 'belief' must mean to him as a con man.

That reference would be "unbelievable". When he wants to insult, that is the term he uses. tonyt53 Jul 2016 #1

Hmmm, thinking he would say you are unbelievable, followed by a believe me lie like others said. MichiganVote Jul 2016 #7

When he wants to convince you of something, he uses "believe me".

When he says "unbelievable" that means he is getting ready to lie.

When he says "trust me"............you are in trouble.

He says "believe me" or "unbelievable" (as in, it's not true), and they listen to him, no matter what he said before it.

They are unable to think for themselves and understand the tactic.

Words just escape from his mouth. He also has a vocabulary of maybe 100 words, which is a sure sign of a person who doesn't read much beyond street signs.
