Eff the Media!!!

I'm a 55 year old, 30 year retired Navy Mustang Officer and lifelong Democrat...and NO, the patriotism and love of country on display last night is NOT something new, or unique to the Democratic Party.

Love of country, belief in America, service, respect for our values and devotion to our freedoms has ALWAYS been a cornerstone of the Democratic Party.

The idea that Democrats could, or "needed", to learn something about patriotism and love of country from this Republican party is abhorrent.

If you think that somehow the Republican Party has some sort of "claim" on patriotism, you are guilty of mistaking exploitation for genuineness.

Republicans seem to think that waving a bunch of flags around and "speechifying" about American values that they DON'T possess "Trumps" their obvious disdain and hatred for this country.

Oh, they'll be the first to tell you how much they "love the good ole US of A", but their actions...and especially their nominee...expose their lies.

Democrats believe that patriotism, love of country, and the freedoms expressed in our founding documents, extends to ALL, regardless of color, race, religion, gender, economic standing, sexual orientation, or physical disability.

You see....there's a huge difference.

To Democrats, patriotism, values, freedoms and opportunity are bestowed to all Americans at birth.

Republicans believe that "they" get to decide which Americans qualify as patriots and share in our values, freedom and opportunity.

A great leader I worked with in the Navy once said something that stuck with me. He said;

"I get so tired of people telling me how proud they are of our military. We don't need a military that the country can be proud of...we need a country that the military can be proud of"

Well, let me tell you...I have NEVER been prouder of my party!

And to Chris Matthews, Wolf Blitzer, Nicole Wallace, and others pushing this narrative....This Navy Mustang Officer doesn't need you to "effing" tell me what love of country or patriotism is all about

Any abstract thinker realizes that by reaching out to all Americans, regardless of affiliation with any group, the Democratic Party has always been the more patriotic party. Patriotism is including and recognizing everyone, not just waving flags.
