Donald Trump's presidential campaign appears to be driving visitors away from his hotels and resorts, according to new data provided by the location-based apps Foursquare and Swarm.
The company's data published on Medium Thursday indicates that visits to Trump properties have dropped, both in total visits and in share of visits compared to other resorts and hotels.
Foursquare is the app that used to be all about "checking in" "I'm at the Empire State Building" but it is now two separate apps. Foursquare offers location-based information to users, while Swarm still provides the social check-ins. The data in the company's study of Trump resorts comes from both the active check-ins and the "passive" location finder.
The share numbers in the company's study are a bit murky because they are not providing raw numbers, just comparisons. But the trends are pretty clear: Trump locations share of visitors has been down between 14% and 17% each month since March as compared to the same months last year.

(42,770 posts)but Nah....
I was thinking about this yesterday. The man will lose. But worst than that, the reputation he once had as a calm super-successful business man with a lapse into birtherism...has now become one where he is a laughing stock to the whole world, a bigot, and a lying crazy person.
He has already lost much more than an election.
Isn't one of his casinos closing doors this weekend?

He needs to stay until his name is on the ballot of all 50 states. Whoever takes his place should not be able to win even with the Republicans throwing big money into it.

(10,749 posts)Maybe this has been in the media. Don't recall seeing it.
Trump licenses his name, presumably because developers believes it represents something and draws visitors. That's almost funny these days.
But what properties does Trump himself actually own? Descriptions always suggest that they are his, but I'm not sure that this is the case. For example, the Mar-a-Lago facility. Does he own the entire thing? Does he run it? Does he only own the mansion that he seems to call home? Same with the Trump Tower in NY. Sure, the implication is that it is his, but is it, really?
The NYT and WP have done a pretty decent job of pulling back the curtain on this fascist fraud, but much more needs to be done, as I'm sure they realize. It sure would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in editorial meetings wrt what's in the pipeline and when those reports will be public.
