With all due respect, they give most "second amendment people" way to much credit. In my experience anyone that rants about their "gun rights" are irrational, single issue demagogues that have no more courage than a frightened child and are no more rational than a starved and caged wild animal.
How and when such a pervasive need to be armed at all times, this constant and irrational fear of being harmed, has wormed its way into a small subset of our society and taken so much oxygen from the room is truly worthy of study.
More to my point, what Trump did was dangerous and irrational but he is no more dangerous and irrational as the Republican Party that is a perfect reflection of Trump.

(3,282 posts)We haven't seen any of the DU RKBA folks weigh in on Trump's comments, yet. I actually popped down to that forum just to see what they might be saying about this, and it's just been crickets, thus far.

* A Bad Joke.
* Affluenza.
* Boys will be boys.
or any number of other well worn piles of horseshit.
Maybe, they will go with minimizing it as a gaffe.
Whatever, the Republicans need to own Trump and his hideous baby. As, they were it's father.
I am sickened by what I've witnessed over the last few hours across the American spectrum. A view only a day or so ago, I'd only expect to see in a third-world cesspit.

(3,282 posts)That he was just talking about the powerful unity of the 2A community and how they'll show up to vote, instead. Y'know, after Hillary's been elected and is selecting SCOTUS judges. Cause, that's what ya do. Just stand there in a big group and vote really hard after the election's done.
