UPDATED: Next YUGE Scandal, Malia Obama smoking pot at Lollapalooza

Last edited Wed Aug 10, 2016, 02:23 PM - Edit history (1)

I'M SHOCKED, SHOCKED I SAY THAT THEY WOULD SMOKE CANNABIS AT A ROCK CONCERT!!!!!!

UPDATED: IF this is Malia and IF that is, indeed, cannabis and IF it could all be proved, this is the legal equivalent of not coming to a full stop at a stop sign and carries a $200 fine in the state of Illlinois where Lollapalooza is held.

This is the video now making the rounds:

I have been looking a pics, she wears a flowered dress, khaki shorts, with tan top, white tank to, black tank top w/ black shorts, tube top and jean shorts. Hair in a braid, parted on the left and straight, parted on the right and straight, messy part w/ soft curls, and in a ponytail. And almost all those styles and hairdos were photographed while watching the same band play; Cashmire Cats.

Give a normal person an internet connection and anonymity and, well..

No need to move the goal posts. Marijuana is addictive, as are many other substances. The fact that not everyone becomes addictive to it is irrelevant. If that were the case, I could argue that cocaine and alcohol aren't addictive as well.

Then argue with me. Then say they will just go drive around the block and smoke. And I have to wait for them to finish rehearsal. Yeah, it's completely not addictive.

try smoking a few joints of weed a day, every day, for a year. Then stop. See what happens.

Then try drinking a fifth of scotch a day, every day, for a year. Stop. See what happens.

One will quite possibly put you in the hospital with life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, dangerous heart palpitations, sweats, hallucinations, etc. Guess what? It's not the weed.

Now, part of the issue is that the word "addiction" is ill-defined once you get beyond the physiological syndrome outlined above, and we have broadened the word to include all sorts of things and behaviors, like Christian fundamentalists who masturbate occasionally- "addicted" because despite massive guilt trips they still do what is essentially normal behavior. So the term doesn't mean all that much. Certainly people can become habituated to all sorts of things, and smoking pot is undoubtedly one of them.

But the fact remains that in the pantheon of physiological addiction to the actual substance, marijuana is a relative cakewalk.

Thanks for the input. I saw the title of the video and it never struck me, but now that you mention it it looks more like she is wiping her mouth with a napkin than her smoking anything.

She's definitely smoking SOMETHING though, that can't be denied, and that's definitely Malia. If I were her Dad I'd be far more pissed about the cigarette tbh, and I'd be having a word with her Secret Service detail. That said, she is a young adult, and she needs to be free to make her own choices (and her own mistakes). Her Dad being President is immaterial.

Edit to add:

How cool would it be to have been the kid who smoked weed with the President's daughter? I would've never shut up about it.

Have been "rumors" that Malia has dabbled with alcohol as well, and has had issues with skipping classes while in High School, so it's not always been "Peaches & Cream" with Malia Obama at least. She's grown @ 18, but she really has to watch the people she hangs around and always be aware of her surroundings, because she KNOWS full well that she's being watched always But then again, maybe she WAS making a statement because she KNEW she'd be seen

I'm pretty sure her parents are none too happy about this one bit

After all, more and more Americans believe that our antiquated drug laws are in dire need of overdue reform, which is why even Drumpf has spoken in favor of legalization. The only reason why some people are making a fuss over this is because it has something to do with Obama's children.

I don't care if that is or isn't her and if that is or isn't weed. The President himself has smoked, and well into his 8th year he has CHOSEN to keep pot a Schedule A substance. If not for that, this picture would not be an issue to anyone.

I'd love it if the entire first flippin family were smoking weed in the White House. Never made any sense that it was illegal to begin with.

Outraged that this is still a subject of contention, and that it's still listed as a schedule 1 narcotic.

According to Gallop polling, 43% of Americans claim to have smoked pot at least once. And one in eight claim to regularly consume.

And to anyone who's still buying in to the old "gateway drug" talking point: imagine making the same argument, but replace "cannabis" with "alcohol". The same arguments fit, despite not really being true. For instance, depressed people often drink heavily, but it doesn't mean having a drink or two leads to depression. (Yet heavily drinking can. And alcohol can be addictive. My argument is flawed, because alcohol is worse than cannabis.)

Could be a joint. Could be a cigarette. Could be something else altogether. Maybe she wasn't smoking anything at all. Whatever it was in her hand it didn't seen seem to go between her lips although it came near to it in that video. All speculation.
