Does anyone else here have a serious crush on Paul Krugman?

A man or woman crush, take your pick...

But "seriously," he really IS the only pundit actually telling it like it is, and with immense credibility in economics. I listened to his entire hour long speech at the London School of Economics in video and Multimedia (http://www.democraticunderground.com/101734362), plus the Q. and A. afterwards. I just wish the camera had picked up the graphs he was showing, so I could understand some of his terms better.

I just loved it when he talked about the "long run Phillips curve" not being "vertical," even tho I hadn't the foggiest idea of what it meant til I googled...

If you watch that speech, be sure to have pencil and paper ready so you can look up all the technical jargon. Once I had done that I could understand a little more of his speech.

Not quite... For some reason, I tend to like Robert Reich better.

I respect Krugman, but I have no man-crush at the moment.

Yes, the guy can be good, and is usually funny. But he really tries hard to blame both parties for one party's sins.

I fell for him years ago when I read his newspaper articles regularly, long before I ever saw him in person.

I love him much like I love Elizabeth Warren. They both make economics interesting and understandable.

I can imagine talking with her for hours and never getting bored. She is both smart and down-to-earth.

but I'm constantly impressed that he seems to be the only commentator on the current scene who always knows what he's talking about and isn't afraid to say the truth that needs to be said regardless of how it does or doesn't fit into anyone's political agenda.

In a world filled with despicable liars he is one of the only people willing to speak the truth. Even better, he is one of the few people knowledgeable enough to back up his claims.

As a woman (who is older) I see him attractive from a "distance." So it is quite nuanced...
