(38,311 posts)..unlike some shit advertising that uses underhanded javascript tricks to sneak in pop-ups and animations. Or worse, sound.
I blacklist any site where that sort of advertising comes up and their advertisers too.
I'd rather do that than use adblock or similar tools because I'm okay with the less intrusive text-and-a-small-image sorts of advertising.

(22,035 posts)The great many of the "underhanded" tricks that you refer to are so annoying that I would never purchase the product or service being offered. Yet, there must be a positive success rate or they wouldn't do it. Who are their customers? Trump supporters?

I think you are correct. It's the Trump supporters these advertisers are preying upon.

(113,281 posts)37 yo son, at a family dinner this week, casually referenced a character from this book when he was talking about something unrelated.
The whole family knew who he was talking about; I guess that explains what my family thinks of the story. It really is never-ending.
