On Christmas Eve, I felt just a little under the weather, but then every day after that it progressed to the point I could barely stand or stay awake. I ended up being on life support and it took me a month to recover.

I'm also still young (was 29 when it happened) and generally healthy.

Point is, it can hit anyone. There is a vaccination though, I would recommend it.

and how to avoid it. It's especially risky during the hot summer weather, and to those who a pushing their bodies to the max.
That info is indoctrinated on members of the Military, mostly because of the conditions they have to endure, but I would THINK, if no one else, at least her Drs. and SS detail (many of whom are ex-military) would have advised everyone around them.

Thank goodness it's a fairly common ailment and can be cured quickly.

People seem to think if they drink a half gallon of water in one sitting, they should be okay for the day but that's not how it works. The body "dries out" during the day and therefore stresses out. It's best to take a sip every ten or fifteen minutes or so rather than "binge drink".

Meanwhile, ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/FOX/NYT/WaPo/etc. spout innuendo and conspiracy theories. This speaks volumes about our MSM, when a magazine that focuses on actors and other celebrities provides more competent journalism than those who are supposed to be doing that work.

Which makes me ask 2 questions...why go to an entertainment outlet with this info and why wasn't she diagnosed sooner if a serious illness had been spreading through the ranks for 2-3 weeks prior to yesterday?

Mon Sep 12, 2016, 11:54 AM
Sep 2016

All of the entities that you listed ARE "entertainment outlets". The news divisions and entertainment divisions are merged at the highest levels and report to the same folks.

The issue with your inquiry is this - why is it necessary to report on every illness of a campaign staffer? Apparent answer would be - because discussing policy is "boring" so a health-gate du jour would be better as a ratings stunt.

I.e., I expect, for the hundreds of years that this country has been having elections with people campaigning for office, where candidates were/are exposed to literally thousands of people throughout the course of the campaign, that illnesses have been par for the course. Certainly it didn't appear to be a big deal when Dick Cheney ran for office twice and his condition was extreme (not counting the polio-disabled FDR) compared to most candidates and office-holders. It seemed to be generally reported as a "oh by the way, the VP just had a new <fill in the blank part or procedure> and is <fill in the blank with - 'resting comfortably', 'back in the office', 'at an undisclosed location'>.

Pneumonia is a deadly condition and if the person afflicted is not careful to treat it with the respect it requires, a person can rapidly find themself in a life-threatening condition in a matter of days.

Pneumonia affects approximately 450 million people globally (7% of the population) and results in about 4 million deaths per year.
http://www.lung.org/lung-health-and-diseases/lung-disease-lookup/pneumonia/?referrer=https://www.google.com/

This is not a question of fitness or general health, it is a condition that can rapidly kill even a healthy adult if not treated actively.

Get well soon Secretary Clinton, the world needs you to be ready for the sprint to the finish, even if it means going dark until the debates while recuperating.
