Here is why people are frightened and unhinged about Trump's thinly veiled threats

Last edited Sat Sep 17, 2016, 10:30 AM - Edit history (3)

Why? Because many of us were around when President Kennedy was assassinated, and Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated, and Bobby Kennedy was assassinated. Also, the attempted assassination of President Regan is in our minds. This is no game, and it is no joke. This is not reasonable, it is dangerous and is like yelling "fire " in a crowded theater (when there is no fire and just to frighten people)....which is totally against the law, and not protected by free speech....If anyone disagrees with this last sentence, ask any lawyer, and he/she will tell you it is against the law to yell fire in a crowded theater when there is no fire.....very dangerous...(if there is a real fire, ok to warn everyone in the theater..of course)

And, I would add this.. some of the people who have beat up protesters at Trump events have been proven to be dangerous and harmful.

He wants to play that game. Kennedy, Kennedy and King were all progressive democrats. The Reagan thing was a nut job for Jodie Foster. Not to worry...only progressives are the enemy in a capitalist country.

These threats are real and dangerous. This is no game. This is yelling fire in a crowded theater with people who are afraid of fire..Don't be mislead. This is real and deliberate.

People need to be told that THEY will go to prison and probably to their death while Trump retreats to his golf course. Somebody needs to step up. Any Republican who doesn't loudly denounce his vile tactics is with him. That's all.

Oswald was shot on live TV as he was being moved to another spot. It was different, but it was a killing on live TV..Horrific and real. The fear is real and the threat is real, just as you mentioned, with the attempted assassination of Gabby Gifford............least we forget..

On January 8, 2011, U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and eighteen others were shot during a constituent meeting held in a supermarket parking lot in Casas Adobes, Arizona, in the Tucson metropolitan area. Six people died, including federal District Court Chief Judge John Roll; Gabe Zimmerman, one of Rep. Giffords' staffers; and a nine-year-old girl, Christina-Taylor Green

You cannot yell fire in a crowded theater, just to frighten people, when there is no fire..that is against the law..I am sorry I did not make that totally clear..and you are correct...if there is a fire..of course you can warn people...I stand corrected.

You say "just to frighten people", but suppose that there actually is a fire, but you don't know that.

If you are under the mistaken belief that there is no fire - in other words there actually IS a fire, but you do not know that - and you start yelling "fire" intending to frighten and injure people, then have you committed a crime?

and been scarred by it. As well, several of us spent time in a bomb shelter during the Cuban Missile Crisis. This guy's threats are not a joke-they are real. All you have to have is one 'nut' who hears the 'dog whistle' and does it (the evil deed).

He's dangerous, and if he gets anywhere near the WH, I'm outta here.

believe. However, one very specific limitation on free speech is 'incitement to violence'. However, there seems to be some ambiguity over what constitutes 'incitement to violence'.

"Incitement to violence" can legitimately apply only to actual encouragement of violence against specific innocent parties by a speaker or writer.

Whether Trumps remarks rise to that level in the eyes of the law is the question, and would require someone much more knowledgeable in Constitutional Law than me.

However, IMHO, Trump is dangerous, Trump is playing with fire, and Trump should be locked away in a room with very soft walls.

Put that with the recollection of Kennedy we fear for Hillary and for the country.

Talk about things that should disqualify a candidate, this should get one put in lock up.
