(2,579 posts)Why would the repubs start acting now? They have done next to nothing for over 7 years, waiting for one of their own to be installed in the WH. Any way possible, no matter how vile. Too bad all the deadwood can not be cleared out of DC. The repub. "leadership" is useless and lazy.

(101,311 posts)The first is a way of getting the thread 'kicked' back to the top of a forum's 'most recently posted to' list, for visibility, and of saying you recommended it (which you actually do by clicking the 'DU Rec' rec button for the opening post (which is often abbreviated to 'OP', by the way); that helps the thread on the 'Greatest Threads' list), so a way of expressing approval.
The second is just a courtesy of saying your reply is only the title, so no one need open up your reply to see what else it says.

(15,882 posts)n/t designation is - no text, or no further text - other letters are sometimes used - on the subject line to indicate that is all they had to say, so you don't need to open it.

(260 posts)I cannot discern where many millennials and many gen-x's find evidence that causes them to distrust HRC other than a prejudice fed by a relentless right wing MSM for 24 years.
Newt, Rove, Wallace, Scarborough, Murdoch, Ailes, etc.,etc., etc. have prevailed with their lying narrative, really?
The distrust propaganda of HRC is a model of disinformation that apparently makes you think voting is either pointless or that, despite any evidence, but only innuendo, you can find credibility in the distrust narrative.
If you believe HRC is distrustful then you must have doubts about the state of civil rights, human rights, the denial of climate science and abortion is based on evil.
You don't get a lot of opportunities to put your country above your personal agenda. Military service, political party, biases, or organization agenda cannot be allowed to lead one to rationalize not voting.
A straight Democratic ticket, regardless of what locale you live, is the essence of sanity in 2016 and must be repeated in 2018. We have to have four to six years to wrest the agenda from these right wing radicals.
