Besides, that's how real police work is supposed to end, with a suspect in custody, not on the way to the morgue.

The bomb in NYC injured 29 people. I'm betting the FBI/DHS probably already have a few leads on who some of his pals are. Give him a choice of 3 years for everyone he injured or 1 year for everyone he injured plus he tells all he knows. It'll be easy enough to figure out if he's lying. Under NO circumstances should he be given a martyr's death. Let him rot away in a jail somewhere, praying in vain for Allah to get him out of being some lifer's honey.

As for how he was found, the guy immigrated legally. I'm sure that's how his prints are on file. Facial recognition, too. I'm sure there are a few other tricks up our collective sleeves that are, for obvious reasons, not played up in the press. No sense in letting guys like this know in advance how to avoid detection. On the other hand, I'm also pretty sure his handlers removed themselves by several levels before sending him out to do his stuff. He probably doesn't know their names, faces or locations, and communicated by Facebook code words and throw-away cell phones.
