A 6-year-old New York boy's plea to have a Syrian refugee brought to live with him made it all the way to the White House.
In a heartfelt handwritten note addressed to President Obama, Alex, of Scarsdale, asks if Omran Daqneesh, the 5-year-old Syrian boy who was pictured in the back of an ambulance looking bloodied and dazed, could come live with him.
Alex felt compelled to send the letter after seeing the photos of Omran that shocked the world last month.
Alex writes to the president, We can all play together. We will give him a family and he will be our brother.
Bloodied Syrian boy now the napalm child of this generation
The POTUS shared Alex's letter at the United Nations summit on refugees this week.
I think there is something in my eye.
