body cameras and car cameras for citizens.
Set them up to upload directly to the cloud where, in the event of a cop event, some group like the ACLU can get it and give to the media and your next of kin.
For the record, the ACLU already has a smartphone app that does this. Go download the ACLU Mobile app for your state now, and maybe soon they'll link up to dash cams and citizen body cams.

(7,627 posts)Its more common in other countries than the united states. In Russia, for example pretty much everybody has dash cams. This is to be able to show what happened in case of an accident. I think in the case of Russia, its because being able to file a claim with the insurance companies is dicey at best. If you have dash cam footage, this helps your case.

(4,516 posts)No body wants a chip. No one is suggesting that. However, the fact is you are on film the majority of your life. There are cameras inside and outside of every business. There are cameras at every intersection in the city and trail cams on country roads. The use of cameras is going to continue and increase. Those cameras aren't there for your benefit (usually) it is up to you to protect yourself in the same manner - with cameras. YOUR footage may be the difference between life and death in a court of law.
