Smoke From Overheated Samsung Tablet Causes Plane to Make Emergency Landing

A Delta flight from Detroit to Amsterdam diverted on Sunday when a Samsung tablet onboard overheated and started smoking.

The flight diverted to Manchester, where authorities investigated the smoke and found a Samsung tablet lodged in between two seats.

“The aircraft landed safely and Delta’s maintenance quickly found the source and the aircraft was cleared to continue its journey,” Delta said in a statement.

The Boeing 767-400 left Detroit at 10:19 p.m. and flew for over six hours when smoke was detected in business class. Passengers alerted crew who diverted the flight to Manchester airport. The plane spent almost three hours on the ground before taking off for its final destination.

Their washers, dryers, phones, tablets, and TVs are catching fire.

My wife and I looked at a house filled with Samsung products the other day.

Nope. Next house, please.

Lithium batteries seems to be really an issue, and while all this is rightfully focused on Samsung, I think that how the Lithium battery technology is implanted really needs to be investigated by the government agencies that try an insure consumer safety.

Samsung's explosion woes continue as some washing machines blow up in the U.S.

Samsung's explosion woes do not seem to end as some washing machines in the US made by the manufacturer are now reported to be faulty with some consumers claiming they have exploded. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which is already helping the Korean company with its Galaxy Note 7 recall, has started investigating the matter.
