The editorial cartoonist is to the left of the paper he or she is published in.

I think it has to do with the artistic mind. They are by nature observers. And when you take the time to actually study and look at issues and the people who are in control, you naturally move to the left in your thinking.

The same is true in most every creative endeavor like music and acting.

And the more ignorant you are, the more of a right wing dupe you are.
