The Ultimate Goal Of GOP Is To Make America Completely/Totally Broke Financially.

The best way to create small or almost non existent government is to bankrupt the Treasury completely. For that reason Trump is really their candidate. He would really totally bankrupt this country and leave no money to even run government. More than anything the GOP still wants to succeed with what Reagan intended.

Ever since 1980 the scheme has always been to run up the deficit to an unsustainable level. The public still supports basic programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other safety net programs. They want a "sheriff of Nottingham" domain where the poorest pay ALL the taxes.

The GOP is deluded in that it believes if can crush the country financially and still have trillions of dollars for DOD. And they have already damaged so much.

1. It isn't the country that they want to break, it is the citizens at about that 95% level and below.

After that, they'll work on the 95%-99% to break them.

Reduce taxes on the rich to the point that the government must borrow money from them instead.

It's transparent.

Noam Chomsky:
Take Social Security. Social Security is based on a bond among people. If you earn a salary today — somebody your age — [young people of twenty or so] you’re paying for the welfare and survival of your parents’ generation. Well, okay, that’s a natural feeling. If you want to increase the control of concentrated private power you have to drive that out of people’s heads. You have to create the kind of people that Ayn Rand is talking about, where you’re after your own welfare and you don’t care what happens to anyone else. You have to think, “Why do I have to care about that disabled woman across town who doesn’t have enough food to eat? I didn’t do it to her. That’s her problem. She and her husband didn’t invest properly; she didn’t work hard enough, so what do I care if she starves to death?” Well, you have to turn people into pathological monsters who think that way, if you want to ensure that unaccountable, concentrated, private power will dominate the world and enrich itself. So, these things go together.

selling off national assets to billionaires at pennies for the dollar: national parks, dams, forests, oil fields on public lands, etc.

These folks are not satisfied with owning a substantial majority of the nation's wealth. They want it ALL.

That was years ago and I sort of laughed it off.

As it turns out, there's indeed been a push for the private ownership of water!

What next? The air?!

It's the only way they can destroy popular programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Ever wonder why deficits increase when Rethugs are in power?

It's not because they don't understand the consequences of their policies.

The Democrats are in charge, the GOP yells and screams about the debt/deficit and demands cuts to existing programs and fights against new ones but they have no problems with spending trillions on the military and running up the debt/deficits when they are in charge. It's all so predictable (and tiresome).

To them, it's fine when the money goes to rich folks.

I heard a conservative on the radio years ago complaining that the US was giving away our tax money to Egypt. He implied that it was given to them as a humanitarian effort while we have people struggling here, with Democrats to blame.

I fact-checked it later and discovered that the money given to Egypt all had to be spent on weapons made here!
