Reason for lots of hope here in Southeast Florida

Palm Beach County, Broward County and Miami Dade County represent about half the voters of the state of Florida. And these counties have historically gone Democratic. Over the past few days, very large numbers of black, Hispanic and sane white people have voted. This bodes well for a Hillary victory.

No "hanging chads" are going to flip this year's election. If/when Hillary is declared the winner in Florida tomorrow night, you will be able to breath easy. It will be over.

Save yourself the heartburn and ignore the bullshit being spewed across your TV screens over the next 24 hours. Tune in tomorrow night and wait for the Florida results. Then break open the champagne.

the door for mail-ins. When I finally got to my postal clerk I asked her how she was doing. She smiled and just said "No lunch today." I almost went and got her a sandwich but figured it wasn't allowed..LOL.

Ballots have to be in on election day. Drop off absentee ballots at your local Democratic Club (or Republican Club if you're so inclined). They will see that your ballot gets to where the votes are counted.

By the way, our Supervisor of Elections here in Palm Beach County is Susan Bucher. She's great and is on the current ballot for reelection. Vote for her. No "hanging chads" while she's been running things. And everyone's vote, Democratic, Republican, or Other, gets counted.

It stayed far enough off shore that we only had two trees come down and about 10 feet of soffit damage. The yard debris is still sitting there a month later though. It's taking them forever to get through the county and collect it all.

Weren't sure if you were asking me, but no. I'm in South PBC and it totally missed us. Northern PBC and the counties above got hit, some bad, some worse.

How did you make out?

I'd feel better about my state if Hillary carried it.

I'm in Miami. There's no question Cubans in general are more receptive to Democrats. I can talk to some neighbors during election season these days. But the hard line Republican-only slant is still the loudest voice you hear in local businesses and waiting rooms, etc. I speak just enough Spanish to pick it up. The words are familiar. Lots of leathery old men wearing frowns and with their wives nodding alongside.

Young people of Cuban descent, and virtually all other Hispanics/Latinos are Democrats. (Short explanation regarding older Cubans: Republicans always expressed greater hatred for Castro than Democrats did.)
