Really?

DU is never critical of people who hire undocumented immigrants?

Those people should vote for Trump.

Guys who didn't bring their papers or card with them along when they went to work, and someone decides to call HS or Border patrol on the company because there were too many people "hanging around" that business who didn't "look legal", or they have a beef with the owner of the business. And once ICE gets someone, it takes time and some serious legal work to get them out, even if a spouse or a co-worker shows up with papers while they're sitting on the curb in handcuffs waiting to be taken down to the processing center.
I've been told by people I used to work with when I was working shipyard installations of other employees who had been deported and waited (or are still waiting) months for their hearing to get back and take care of their American families - all while the deportees were actually in a legal status - as recent as a year ago.

Legal status is not be as obvious as some people like to make it seem - especially when there's butt-hurt tipsters involved. As it is, there's a lot of undocumented workers who never get hassled or picked up, because they're from Canada or Europe and look "American".

the federal department cannot, despite Trump's obfuscations (or inability to understand the difference).

sometimes, shit happens. illegal immigrants get caught in the net. I doubt the department has stepped up arrests deliberately.

The reason me and my family voted for HRC and deep deep NAVY BLUE down ticket is for my fellow Americans. Immigration reform that works like a drive thru at Mickey D's for those with NO violent criminal history TOPS my wishlist. Seriously I want it to be fast, thorough and friendly.

It means MORE federal income taxpayers. It means more people paying in social security. It means more people available for our military and astronaut programs.

It means more innovation and creativity.

Second on my wishlist is the biggest infrastructure bill ever to retrain and put deplorables back to work. It's hard to sell people on fear hate and anger when they're getting paid a decent wage to do a job they like.

I want lots of other things that I think will happen too but these are my main two that I hope get done in the first 100 days.

BTW I just assumed we'd get the 9th justice if we get the WH and the senate. So I didn't put it at the top of my wishlist.

I am sorry to hear that. That's a tough spot to be in.

Coming from a family of immigrants, I am very grateful for the opportunities that I have access to. Notice I didn't say given because I have busted my hump for everything. I didn't ask for or take any handouts. But I am proud of the work ethic that was instilled in me. It kills me that so many people take the freedoms afforded here for granted.

There is a profit motive in the immigration system make no mistake about that.
