He made his bed. Now he gets to sleep in it. I don't care HOW much more fancy his digs are in his Manhattan tower.

I think you're exactly right--he wants the attention. His call to Taiwan is a pretty good indication that he is not interested in learning how to do the job he sought. He is more concerned with having his portrait on the East Wing wall than having his ass in the Oval Office. But don't get too complacent--it's not like Pence at that desk would be any kind of improvement.

Trump was wrong to take the call, should have known the ramifications, but the call did indeed originate from Taipei.

In a way, he's done everything he could to ensure that he not win.

His supporters (and the GOP voter suppression machine) wouldn't let him lose.

I think he wanted enough attention to expand the brand. Not so sure he wanted to win. I think he was afraid he might.

Though, with his ego, you could certainly be right. I agree that he doesn't want to do the work involved.

I have no answer. All thru the campaign, whenever one of the talking heads would rt out the "appealing to his base" phrase, I would find myself saying, "Appealing to the base is right - to people's baser instincts."

Isn't a mark of civilization the ability to rise ABOVE our baser instincts? The loss of civility we are experiencing is profoundly depressing.

It shook me so badly because I could see it was addressing Democrats. Whether or not he o.k'd the ad is another question. I think it was everywhere.

Hillary's team's should have had a similar closing argument. If they did, I didn't hear it.

That way, he could spend every day for the rest of his life bragging that he was the "true winner" and "people's champion", and the only reason he's not in the White House is because of the "rigged system" and "crooked Hillary". And he would never have to deal with the responsibility of being President!

Already he's being manipulated and used as a distraction.

The people he is putting into power are going to steal everything and leave us holding the bag. And the media will focus on his tweets and circus all the while.
