http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/paul-ryan-russia-hacking-probe-232484Speaker Paul Ryan rejects any politicization of intelligence matters regarding Russias meddling in U.S. elections, his office said Sunday. But the Wisconsin Republican stopped short of calling for a congressional investigation into the CIAs conclusion that Russia attempted to skew the election toward Donald Trump.
"Speaker Ryan has said for months that foreign intervention in our elections is unacceptable, Ryans spokeswoman, AshLee Strong, said in a statement to POLITICO. The speaker cannot comment on or characterize the content of classified briefings but he rejects any politicization of intelligence matters."
The statement puts Ryan in the middle of a brewing war between lawmakers who want Congress to conduct a full-fledged probe of Russias interference and the president-elect and top Trump officials whove downplayed and even rejected the explosive findings.
(snip)
The speaker has taken a hard line on Russia in the past. At an early September news conference, just after Trump had defended Russia from accusations that it was meddling in the election, Ryan called Vladimir Putin an aggressor that does not share our interests.
Strong also noted in the statement that Ryan in September also wrote to the states and urged them to enhance the cybersecurity of their election infrastructure.
(end snip)
He knew, too. He is one of the gang of 12. Add his name to the list of people to be investigated. Maybe he is reading Atlas Shrugged to find out what Ayn would do. Ryan shrugged.

(23,970 posts)3. i think Ryan has his own agenda, distinct from Putin/Trump's
he wants to go along, because his interests (demolishing any aspect of the federal government aimed at helping the unrich) align with Putin/Trump's temporarily
he'll put on a little show of discontent that will amount to exactly bupkis.

Our country being in the hip pocket of the former head of the KGB really doesn't rise to the level of concern for Speaker Ryan.
