Are we too nice?

I was reading about the flood of amazon negative reciews received by a clinton supporter who had accosted ivanka on a jetblue plane and this reminded me how at the height of my anger i looked into logging into my tripadvisor account and trashing the trump hotels (after all i am a very senior reviewer) but i just never did it. Just not me...

Are we just wired so that we are ill equipped when it comes to gutter fight?

5. The whole catch 22 of liberalism is we want to meet people half-way.

Liberalism is the politics of inclusion. Conservativism is the politics of exclusion.

When someone doesn't agree, our impulse is to talk it out and find out what will make things work for everyone. Their impulse is "If you don't like it, GTFO, we're building a wall!"

They totally know this and use it against us. They scream as a chorus when they don't like something and get listened to because there's strength in numbers. We hold a peaceful protest and are called treasonous with that same chorus. Then we are disregarded because we respect different opinions and have 800 different flavors of "no" and we're okay with that, but the message gets diluted.

R: FLOOBZARS ARE BLUE!
D: Well, actually teal is a specific shade of blue so you're partially correct-
R: SO THEREFORE YOU AGREE WITH ME AND YOU LOSE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
D: Well, there is a way to see this issue more finely-grained here, there's more than one shade of-
R: HOW HARD IS IT TO SAY WHAT YOU MEAN, YOU JUST AGREED WITH ME, BECAUSE YOU'RE AN IDIOT.
D: So, you're proud that an idiot agrees with you?
R: SEE, YOU AGREE YOU'RE AN IDIOT. FLIP FLOPPER. YOU'RE A FLIP FLOPPER! IF YOU CAN'T DECIDE YOUR POSITION ON FLOOBZARS, HOW CAN PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY??????

Or kill the children of terrorists. Then, I will get down and dirty with people. Never violence, but everything else should be on the table.

Liberals need a lesson in down and dirty power games. You have to be tough and one learns by going through the gauntlet.

I needed advice when it happened to me - someone wanted to bring me down - from someone who understood bullies. I implemented what felt so uncomfortable to me.. but it was effective.

I'd never let anyone walk on me again because I learned what to look for and how to react. These skills are taught. It's up to us to seek out mentors and learn! The whole party is weak in this area and should not slap its collective back about being "nice" because it's weak and uninformed!

Lesson one should be standing up to a bully. Do not flinch. Expect the worst. Use every legal method to get them back and trip them up. Barring that go metalegal.
