1. Correlation does not mean causation, however...

in this case there are enough economists (Krugman and others) who see this as a causal relation. My best friend is an academic economist who also argues passionately that these causal links exist.

This country is in trouble because there are too few who see this correlation as not being causation.

I think there are at least a few people out there in the land of non-critical thinking who believe that because correlation does not imply causation, it follows that correlation can always be disregarded.

Sigh.

When I tried to point out to a RWer I know that, historically, revolutions tend to occur at times of great wealth inequality, he accused me of fomenting violence.

4. But they put in laws after the 1929 collapse to insure it can't happen again.

5. They actually did implement a lot of laws to ensure it did not happen again.

Many of those laws, however, were repealed during the Reagan and Clinton years.
