Suspicious object at Missouri Walmart was part of geocaching game

MARSHALL, MO. -- A suspicious object that prompted the evacuation of a Walmart store — and caused bomb experts to be summoned from Whiteman Air Force Base — turned out to be part of a geocaching game.

A Walmart employee found a tube wrapped in electrical tape near the store Wednesday afternoon. It had a small metal tab on one end.

In geocaching, players use GPS and the Internet to hide and look for different objects.

Surveillance tape showed three males placing the object in a spot where it could not be seen unless someone was looking for it. The three then re-entered the store.
