We've had a busy day of Trump news. I know you all want to be on top of things, so here's the latest. First, Trump was asked what he thought about Sen. Lindsey Graham's statement that sanctions were due against Russia and Vladimir Putin for their hacking during the election. Check out his reply:
Later, asked about Israeli settlements on the West Bank, Trump produced another bit of word salad that made it clear he had no idea what a settlement even was. This is probably why Trump hasn't spoken to the press in such a long time. This kind of callow blather might have been entertaining when it was coming from a buffoon candidate who had no chance of winning, but not when it's coming from the president-elect.
In other news, Politico reports that Trump was irritated by President Obamas comments at Pearl Harbor yesterday. Obama said, "even when hatred burns hottest, even when the tug of tribalism is at its most primal, we must resist the urge to turn inward. We must resist the urge to demonize those who are different." Those are fairly boilerplate remarks, but "these felt to Trump like direct criticism of the president-elect, according to two people close to Trump." Gee, I wonder why?
Finally, Trump announced that Sprint was bringing 5,000 jobs back to America. "I just spoke with the head person," Trump told Bloomberg. "He said because of me they're doing 5,000 jobs in this country." Here's how it played in the nation's press:
The skepticism in these headlines turns out to be warranted. Trump did indeed desperately try to take credit for this, and you will be unsurprised to learn that he was lying. First of all, Sprint announced these jobs back in April. Here's the Kansas City Star: "Sprint Corp. is launching a nationwide service to hand-deliver new phones to customers in their homes. The Direct 2 You service, which first rolled out in a Kansas City pilot, will lead to the hiring of about 5,000 mostly full-time employees as it spreads nationwide."
Second, the Japanese owner of Sprint, Softbank, announced in October that it was creating a huge tech investment fund.
Third, in December, Softbank's CEO announced the fund again after a meeting with Trump, and said that one part of the whole package was the creation of 50,000 new jobs. Today, Sprint reluctantly conceded that its 5,000 jobs were part of the previously announced 50,000 jobs.
And finally, these jobs were announced yet again today.
That makes four times these jobs have been announced. Donald Trump was responsible for none of them.
Actually, it wasn't entertaining even back then.

(22,897 posts)Which is rather surprising on different levels, but in terms of writing/composing, he's awful. And it's hard to get through college without having done a TON of writing.
Usually college has a tendency to broaden students' minds-- not this one one's!

He is a sad excuse for a businessman.
He is a tax dodger.
He doesn't pay his workers.
He is unpatriotic.
He is a sad excuse for a human being.
I can not find 1 positive thing about him.
He is ugly inside and out.
and millions voted for him. He's also one racist, sexist POS as are the overwhelming majority of his base/followers. This election is all I have needed to prove to myself that ameriKKKa is one racist hellhole full of despicable people hiding and just waiting to pounce on the person who represents all they fear and loath.....

(959 posts)this is why there will be no press conferences, or they will be with someone other than Drumpf. Or the questions will be carefully scripted and the douchey press will just go along with it. Unfit, unintelligent, and unscrupulous. Every appearance of this jerk will be a monumental embarrassment for the nation.

(789 posts)... He has been from the start.
He knows it, his wrecking crew knows it, the majority of US Citizens know it but somehow this cartoon character will end up in the Oval Office.
One hope to protect us all from this 'captain' in command of his ship-of-fools is our legal system by way of groups like the ACLU and the few members of congress that are left who abide to truly uphold the Constitution and have some common sense.
For most of us, tRump's time in office will be like that of a hostage passenger during a high-speed police chase where tRump is the escaped prisoner with nothing to lose and he's just smoked a bowl of crack.... it ain't going to end well.

Instead he should be referred to more accurately, as Naegleria fowleri, colloquially known as the "brain-eating amoeba," although, again, I could see the amoebas taking offense ...

(15,240 posts)Given that similar circumstances occurred through a primary into an election and now a transition it is hard to even imagine what escalating outrages are in store. More of the same is not good enough, Trump is a living breathing self destruct button. I dread everyday. Even if he is removed by 2020 the GOP will come up with something worse.

(2,062 posts)yup, Fuckump comes off like an idiot, but we are not the ones that voted for him, or at least I hope not. He addresses these things to his base of idiotic voters. These stupid statements will not be stupid to the stupid asses who voted for him or the stupid, idiotic asses who support him (congress, Senate), or the totally shameless, cretinous people like Kellyanne, Amrosa, Chachi, Rence Penis, etc who stare in the camera, praise him, claim he is the greatest, lie their asses off, then have the ability to sleep at night.... Thats who these statements are for.

(12,448 posts)We all know him. He was the loudmouth interrupting classes. He was the braggart taking credit for EVERY GOOD THING that happened. He had a limited vocabulary except for insults..he was very good at them! He had a coterie of sycophants around him who relentlessly taunted and threatened. He intimidated teachers and students alike.
BUT, when challenged, he ran away like a cockroach when the lights are turned on. He was, in the end, a sniveling coward.

Where to begin with this pig? It's really beyond Village Idiot status.
We should just call him the Liar-in-Chief. I honestly don't think he has the mental capacity or ability to distinguish between fact and fiction.
