New MSNBC Show "The Cycle" to feature S.E. Cupp, Steve Kornacki, Toure, and Krystal Ball

MSNBC has found its replacement for Dylan Ratigan's show: "The Cycle."

The new program, which the network was set to announce on Thursday, will feature a permanent cast of four: conservative commentator S.E. Cupp, author and pundit Touré, Salon writer Steve Kornacki and former Congressional candidate Krystal Ball. All were previously contributors to the network. The show launches on Monday at 3 PM.

Unbearably dumb and misinformed. Infuriatingly bad. I like the unfortunately named Ball. I've seen Kornaki before but have no real feeling for him. I'm suspicious of anyone that goes by a single name that isn't a soccer player or Prince.

I'm fairly certain I won't be tuning in.

I agree with your conclusions. I think the one about Toure is funny. I will give the show a try. Have an open mind. Kornacki, Ball, and Toure are all liberals!

one more person to give each of five people a weekly show on the same day each week?

I would vote in Michael Eric Dyson for every Friday show.

Then let ratings winnow the field after three months or so.

Give me a fucking break. She's about as funny as a cancer diagnosis. And that's on a good day. With optimal conditions. In excellent weather.

It might be watchable then.. I am sick to death of having EVERY show infected by the righties.. They are a waste of oxygen & skin.. send them to Fox where they belong.

I've pretty much stopped watching MSNBC . With all the Baghdad Bobs (republican minders) there's rarely any cohesive meaningful conversation.

I won't miss Ratigan...he was more interested in his own voice than listening to others. Looks like MSNBC is going with a band-aid here...putting on people they're already paying to appear to fill time until either the show catches on or they find some other "name" to pop in that slot.

The good news, AFAIK, is they'll move Martin Bashir up an hour. I also don't find Kupp any more obnoxious than any other right wing gadfly and like the others. Tourre is sure to keep any right wing talking point in check.

Overall, this is shuffling the deck chairs. These are people who are already regulars on that network who surely will be joined by other regulars...and the network saves a bunch of money...the way of the world in the corporate media these days.

allege the existence of a liberal media bias. News networks fear the "liberal bias" label, so they're doing all they can to move rightward even though they were never really liberal to begin with. It's all about the ratings. Now even the supposedly "liberal" MSNBC has another righty hosting a show. I guess Morning Joe Blow wasn't enough. But maybe the show won't be so bad...who knows.
