Is Joe Scarborough losing it?

He had a little melt down with Donny Deutsch this morning, interrupting him by contesting what he thought Donny was going to say before he said it to argue against the unsaid words of D.D. Donny kept trying to finish his sentence and Joe just kept blustering on. Donny, exasperated, said "you don't know what I am going to say" and Joe kept on interrupting.

What was this all about? I "think" it was about Obama's negative ads in 2008 and how Obama's money superiority bought him more commercials and thus the presidency. He thought D.D. was pushing back against him, or just assumed it, which turned out not to be the case. Joe gets that way when things aren't going well for the Romney campaign. Joe can't stand to hear about it.

I wish they had a bucket of water handy at all times to throw on Joe when he starts these tirades. I'd love to see Mika do it...

1. God, unfortunately that Mika girl is NOT the one to do it...

She just sits there with a constipated look on her face throughout his tirades and does NOTHING. She is absolutely awful....

3. Mika is scared of him when he gets that way. I'm sure she has seen him in action and avoids

any serious confrontation at all costs. Joe has seen the numbers, has read the blogs and other news articles, repubs look weak and silly and Rmoney is a joke. He's smart enough to realize this and as the op says, he's having a meltdown. I've never seen Donnie act disrespectful in any way on the show, he states facts as he knows it and if it doesn't agree with Joe's facts, trouble. Glad I tuned it out, Barnacle was getting on my last nerve.

8. This is a bit mean, but do you think professional wrestling is real?

Real as in two folks get in a ring, one person irredeemably evil and the other who stands for truth and justice, then they fight to determine the winner.

Actually the people in the ring adopt personas one of which is a "heel" - the bad guy and the other a "babyface" which is the good guy.

Anyway, Joe Scaraboro, Donny Deutch have adopted personas to argue on TV mostly about politics. Turn the channel to ESPN and you can see the same type of people arguing about sports. Since we are social animals determining the winners of arguments are very important to us. This livens up our brains. We are built to care about these things.

It does not matter to your, me or anybody else who wins an argument on television. Or if dastardly means are used to win this argument (Joe S shouting down DD, Ric Flair using a blackjack against Dusty Rhodes). The show is on TV to get ratings. It is drama and something we care about only if we let it.

The strange thing is Scar seems to a barometer for how well/badly his republican party is doing. When things don't go well for the Romney campaign Joe gets his nose out of joint, which I think is half an act and half just him being a jerk. I guess he figures he gets paid to make himself a laughingstock. Perhaps the money is just good enough...

10. Maybe it was my e-mail that did it, although he frequently lashes out

at DEUTSCH, one of his special whipping boys. But besides Mika, he started out on the air by tongue-lashing Mrs GREENSPAN, belittling her as not knowing anything, although he has toned down on her. Plus, the poor weather dude. Scabs made it explicit that he would not do any of the morning happy talk with the weather guy, who has been a total pro and has totally stayed in his "place." But a couple of months ago, they were doing a segue from a self-help book and Willy asked the weather guy, "So how do YOU cope, (whatever-his-name-is)?" and the dude said without much of a long suffering sigh, "I just keep showing up." Mostly they treat him like a stick of furniture. Imagine how the Faux a-hole DOOCEY got started, by mixing the wildest fringe Wingnuttiness into his weather reports until he got a show of his own.

But BARNICLE, especially, would get upset on the days I sent e-mails calling him a plagiarist, upon which he would whine about internet slackers in pajamas and anonymous and without editors. It had been a long time since I sent one, but here it is:

I actually woke up dreaming this, that I had gone to a public sector place that offered its employees a benefit of shopping with a discount retail place and was directed to make contact with John EDWARDS who was the liaison. He was in his usual suit and hair but was a bit fretful in going through the motions.

That's *some* subconscious I've got going there!1 So I leapt to fire up the e-mail during the Scabs time slot (the only time their e-mail is functional), saying this:



How long before John EDWARDS joins the motley crew of the Joe Scabs carnival? Think about it, he would be a perfect fit with present and past members: the despicable BARNICLE, mannequin Harold FORD Jr, very strange Mike ALLEN & other Politico-ites, HALPERIN the Horrible, brutish Joe SCABS himself, the buchanan BUCHANAN, and on and on. Yes, not only EDWARDS but throw in Riele HUNTER in there with him.
