Protest like never before. Protest with vigor, humor and spirit. Protest against the reality show star con man who wants to outlaw our reproductive rights. Protest against racism. Protest against Trump/Pence with everything you have.
The majority of voters in this country wanted HILLARY CLINTON to be president.
Make it clear to Trump that he has NO mandate.

(15,682 posts)until just a few nights ago. Damn, it hurt, especially coming from the loved one who said it.
I was called a man hater by a different loved one a few days before Christmas. Happily agreed to by two other loved ones the day after Christmas. They gave it a few days to marinate before they all piled on.
I was called stupid by yet another loved one who is a Trump supporter just 2 days ago.
Needless to say I'm crushed. I could assume they must all be right about being a man hater, or at least coming off sounding as one, since they're all saying it. On the other hand, the stress of traveling and Christmas brings out the worst in people and boy oh boy what fun it is to get a couple people to agree with you when you're pissed off. Honestly, I'm not sure what to think.
The trump thing, I'm sure about. Just sad that someone I love could be so misled and close minded.

(15,682 posts)It is what I need to do. It's tough, though, when it's loved ones you need to fight. I hate it.
people who think a narcissistic bully / con man / misogynist / racist / xenophobic / PUTIN-LOVING PIECE OF SHIT is suitable to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES needs it thrown back in their faces AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY - I don't care if it is some ASSHOLE on the FREAK REPUBLIC or if it's a LOVED ONE - they are all WRONG WRONG WRONG and they have DISGRACED AMERICA

(3,074 posts)I've been the "man-hater" in my family since my divorce (Catholics).
Your messages say it all - Stronger Together and Trust Women. What is wrong with that?
You are RIGHT. They are wrong.
Very sad they were so hurtful to you,

(15,682 posts)There is nothing wrong with my messages, you are right. And I don't hate men. But I've been hurt by a few. And a few have hurt my girls.
Happy New Year! Hope it's a better one for us all.
Hope 20`7 is better for us all. Peace.

(50,949 posts)only purpose a desire to show contempt for you, is not a "loved one."
I'm sorry you are going through that, and I know how hard that can be, but these are not people who you should be spending your emotions on.
My brother-in-law (of many decades) suddenly started calling me a "man hater" at the start of Hillary's campaign. I was very confused and hurt by it when he started with it, and he seemed to need to get the dig in every time he saw me for months. I finally realized what I said above: there is no reason to call someone a "man hater" other than to show a gendered contempt.
My brother in law is no longer someone I have contact with. Life is too short for that shit.

(6,251 posts)I was a "good girl" back in the 1970s -- Mom would have been so disappointed if I got involved in that nonsense.
My, how times have changed. My sisters, my nieces and I are going to the Women's March on Washington. Mom would come with us, but she's 93, and the 300 mile drive and the day walking around Washington would be too exhausting for her. She's proud of us for going, for standing up, for making our voices heard. (Of course, she's worried about what might happen to us at the March, because she's still a mom. Moms always worry!)
