I'm not sure these are pledges. I think they're actual donations.

My question is when they will end the drive and give the woman the money, and how much the website will retain for "administrative costs." We shall see.

I heard them referred to as "pledges" somewhere and I was like UH-OH.

Admittedly, I haven't followed the story closely. I couldn't stand to watch the video. The lady looked too much like my mother.

The fundraising site takes 4%, plus 3% credit card processing fee.

The person who started the fund is identified only with a first name and last initial, and is otherwise anonymous. The funds will be paid to him, not to the bus monitor, on July 20, when the drive ends. I don't think there is any guarantee that the money will be sent to this woman, frankly, but I hope that the person who started the fundraiser does the right thing. Since we don't know who that is, though, I'm not sure we'll find out if he decides that over $500,000 is just too tempting.

I truly hope this ends well.

But somehow I doubt it. I would think, though, some kind of lecure would be in order...

Let em survive on the streets for a week or so.

Harsh, but it's a good lesson. I'm sure some of you will be calling me cruel, but bullies and sociopaths don't care who they are cruel to - they were cruel to me and no one helped me.

Nothing short of internment of bullies will do for my personal belief, but realistically the parents either need to be investigated by CPS for neglect or crack down on the fuckers.

I understand it's bad that she went through this but really she should be suing the school district for the abuse and receiving civil judgements from them, and criminal judgements against her assailants, not just random people giving her money cause they feel sorry for her, that really doesn't help solve the problem.
