Is something weird going on with the internet?

I can connect perfectly fine to about 1/3 of websites (e.g. DU, Twitch) but most websites (e.g. WaPo, NY Times) time out.

Last time this happened was when that DDOS attack on internet infrastructure happened a few months ago.

I use AT&T Uverse in the southeast US.

.......but I think it has to do with all the kids being out of school and adults off work because of the holiday that is making the interwebs so sluggish. But mine is not refusing to open sites like the DDOS attacks did, its just slower than molasses.

Most of the eastern seaboard down. And such convenient timing, too!

Incidentally, if you're wondering about attacks, here's a good visualizer with live updating. It's helpful to keep track of things from occasionally. http://map.norsecorp.com/#/

Is their security not as tight as other countries?

Thanks for the link.

I only know the map as a standalone address, not as a company or a service or anything, so I don't have any further details on why it's listed that way. I'm sorry I couldn't be of further help there.

In Texas.

Been going on for a bit, I changed my uverse router settings, changed channel, ssid and firewall.

I can connect to the sites now but still slow. 2 att technicians came out, did nothing. Google fiber is being installed in my neighborhood, I can't wait to switch.

Click this link and see what your download speeds are and check compared to what you're paying for. Every time I've had problems its been my ISP fault.

Peace
