A full repeal of Obamacare would cost $350 billion over the next decade, according to a new analysis from the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. This makes its wholesale dismantling much more complicated.
Here's the impact of repealing each (through 2027):
--Coverage provisions, which include the individual and employer mandates, subsidies and Medicaid expansion: Savings $1.55 trillion
--Taxes and fees levied on high-income Americans, insurers, providers and others, as well as the Cadillac tax on high-cost insurance plans: Cost $800 billion
--Medicare components, such as slowing the growth of provider rates and lowering payments to Medicare Advantage insurers: Cost $1.1 trillion

(34,661 posts)the Republican Party does not care about the populace, they are their stepping stone to office. All Congressional Members have first dollar coverage when it comes to Health Care and that includes their Family Members for life. Such a deal.
It is all about their so called principles, meaning the Government should never spend a penny on the populace. Survival of the fittest theory and Market forces. What is really scary is the coming mandate of people being required to purchase Health Care Insurance from the Private Insurance Companies at market rates. With punitive clause of increased Income Taxes or other fines will be used as a enforcement tool.

(3,922 posts)The fascists repeal of health care for all Americans is based on hate: hate for those in need, hate for President Obama (and his race), and hate for anything thatbwill create a legacy of accomplishment for Dems (see Social Security and Medicare).
These people (I'm being generous) are vile, evil, self-absorbed enemies of our country.

(82,849 posts)Or have we all decided that once again deficits don't matter? Mysterious how that seems to happen whenever Republicans are in the White House. Prolly all just a coincidence. If Democrats get back in power, it will again be time to hog-tie federal outlays and restrict spending on everything except defense.
