President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday appeared to take credit for boosting the album sales of a singer set to perform at his inauguration.

"Jackie Evancho's album sales have skyrocketed after announcing her Inauguration performance," the president-elect tweeted. "Some people just don't understand the 'Movement.'"

Breitbart News last week...................................................

TMZ reported last month that Evancho's album sales quadrupled, raising her "Someday at Christmas" album to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Classical Albums chart. Of Evancho's five previous albums, four of them also reached the top spot on the Billboard Classical chart, while the fifth peaked at No. 2.

On the Top 200 albums chart, Evancho's album is currently at No. 134, down 41 spots from the previous week. "Someday at Christmas" peaked at No. 93 on the Top 200, lower than the peak of her previous four albums.

She has sung for Obama twice and has taken a lot of right-wing flak from being in the movie "The Company you Keep" and supporting her sister, who is transgender. She is singing the National Anthem, not a love song for Trump. If you want to attack someone, take it out on the orange pucker face.

When you are a relatively unknown singer, obviously being in the news is going to attract attention towards you. Certainly this would increase her sales while her name is getting discussed. She may even see an increase following her appearance, again because her name will be in the news, twitter, etc. When you are a well known act, the increase might be more of a blip, but when you are not a well known name, the increase will seem much more significant proportionally.

Whether she gains any long term traction from this remains to be seen, but I tend to doubt there will be much if any.

3. Christmas Album at Christmas

It seems that the sales of her Christmas album increased around Christmas. It is most likely that people bought her album because they wanted to buy a Christmas album. It has been said on numerous occasions that Mariah Carey makes $1 million a year off the song All I Want For Christmas is You. I assume every year she sees a spike in sales around Christmas. More than likely the same thing happened this year to Jackie Evancho that happens to Mariah Carey and other artists every year. Around Christmas more people went out and bought her Christmas album.

You can sell 1000 cd's and top that chart for the week but might need to sell 375,000 cd's to beat Beyonce on the Pop chart
