Donald Trump Has Not Given to Wharton

Apparently, Donald Trump has given little to no money to his alma mater University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. On the other hand Michael Bloomberg has given more than $1 billion to his alma mater John Hopkins University.

Alternatively, maybe the university doesn’t want to burn bridges with a potential large donor (though Trump has never given any significant amount).

Bloomberg's first gift to his alma mater was a whopping $5 in 1965, a year after he graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Fast forward to Saturday, when the Baltimore university announced Bloomberg has now given a total of $1.1 billion. The latest commitment came in the form of a cool $350 million toward a "transformational" initiative aimed at cross-discipline solutions to societal problems.

Among other things, the donation will fund 2,600 Bloomberg Scholarships over 10 years and 50 distinguished scholars.

Of the $350 million, $100 million will go toward "need-based financial aid" for undergraduate students.



Maybe Trump just likes to keep his giving secret. However, from what is available he has not given much to his alma mater.

Trump took no graduate courses at Wharton. The undergrad program at Wharton is okay but it is the graduate school that is well known. Trump was never accepted nor attended the graduate school program at Wharton
