Dick Cheney is celebrating the marriage of his daughter Mary to her longtime partner, Heather Poe.
In a statement to the right-leaning website The Daily Caller, Cheney and his wife, Lynne, said, "Mary and Heather have been in a committed relationship for many years, and we are delighted that they were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have that relationship recognized."
Mary Cheney and Poe were married today in Washington, they said. Mary Cheney has given birth to a son and a daughter.

they only think about themselves - try to imagine how much easier things would be if you never thought about other people - imagine how black and white your thinking would be if you considered only you and yours important

So Cheney basically has the same stance on the issue as President Obama. That alone should make the President come out for full-fledged, federally recognized marriage equality.

(63,912 posts)spoke of her "being who she is" at one of the prez debates in 04. While I thought at the time that it came a little out of left field and was awkwardly done, I remember how ungrateful and downright mean she was about it.
So I don't care what Mary Cheney does, really. She would have been far more acceptable if she had just said nothing at all.
