3. there's no process for that.

best case scenario is that congress impeaches and removes trump & pence (both elections are equally tainted).

then either ryan becomes president, or they appoint a new vice president in between the two removals and that person becomes president.
the republican congress would never do any of that, but even if they did, they'd never, ever, ever make hillary president.

If this were sports, the runner up would be declared the champion.

Of course, this is America, and fairness is not an option.

7. hell, if it we're one of toxic trump's pageants, or the apprentice, the runner-up would win.

then again, i guess that is in fact how it turned out, because after all, toxic trump *was* the runner-up....

6. Then the constitution needs to be amended to fix that

Such an amendment would be almost guaranteed to have the backing it needs.

9. not entirely true.

the electoral college can in theory vote for just about anyone qualified; the house can challenge and throw out selected electoral votes, and eventually vote themselves to determine the president under certain conditions.

prior to that, state and federal laws and courts may provide remedies such as recounts and challenges and so on.

but there are aggressive deadlines for all that stuff, and in short, it's too late now.

Of course, people should know that already.

There are no election do-overs.

More than that showed up for Obama's inauguration. Sadly, it wouldn't make any difference.

17. Sigh

And we laughed at dRump when he said he wouldn't automatically accept election results.

Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million:

http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/california

California results:
Hillary Clinton 8,753,788
Donald J. Trump 4,483,810

Difference: 4,269,978

http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/new-york

New York results:
Hillary Clinton 4,547,218
Donald J. Trump 2,814,346

Difference: 1,732,872

Total difference: 6,002,850

If she won the popular vote by 3 million, that means Trump won the other 49 separate elections by 3,002,850.

The voice the other 49 elections have is the electoral college. I don't like it, you don't like it, none of us like it, but it's the system we have.

Civics 101: There is NO national election. There are 51 separate elections where the popular vote counts. (50 states plus D.C.). The popular vote in each individual state is what counts.

It's theoretically possible Hillary could have won every vote in California and New York (20,599,162) and won by popular vote, yet STILL lost by the same electoral margin.
