Billionaires don't "earn" money. And one of the Walton heirs is about halfway there. Some woman. kestrel91316 Jun 2012 #6
No member of the Walton family is "halfway" to being a trillionaire. Not even close. onenote Jun 2012 #7

We may be closer to seeing the first "trillionaire" than we think...

if they earned a dollar a second they would need 30,000 years to make a trillion dollars (starting from 0 dollars)

I don't think a billionaire on the list today would live long enough to come close

So you need to rethink that.

The Walton family as a whole is worth around 100 billion dollars, which leaves them 900 billion shy of a trillion. If you're thinking of Christy Walton, who is the richest one of the bunch, she (and her immediate family) are worth around 25 billion. A lot of money, but nowhere even close to a trillion (and well short of the richest man in the world, Carlos Slim, whose is estimated worth is 69 billion).

was worth $350 billion or $500 billion. Sorry, I don't have a link. I just recall thinking that she would be the first trillionaire.

This is probably the thread you were thinking of. It talks about how Alice Walton is worth 21 billion.

Also, you may want to edit your post to change "million" to "billion." It won't make what you read correct, but its obviously what you meant to type.
