I'm talking serious steps to protect yourself and your family from the ensuing financial buttfucking this country (and likely the global economy) would be getting.

What would you do to insulate yourself as best you could? And I'm assuming that we're not talking about building a bunker in the woods and going offgrid; the vast majority of people don't have that kind of disposable income.

except I would a find a min. wage job that I could work for 3 years or so, and SAVE the money to invest AFTER the market blows itself up again, and THEN buy stock (when its at like, .25 cents a share). Then, when the NEXT round of bailouts gets approved, I can make some money off my slave wages. =)
