(56,829 posts)back in the early 2000s, Connecticut Republican Governor John Rowland was hit with a ton of accusations for corruption over the course of his governorship - a lot of "pay to play" type of stuff. None of it stuck - until it came out that one "pay to play" item was a state contractor installing a fancy-schmancy hot tub at the governor's home. For some reason, it struck a chord with both the media and the public and all the other corruption items came to the surface and the public started paying attention to it. (Never mind that it was relatively minor compared to some of the other Rowland corruption...) it wasn't long before the Democrats in the state legislature started talking impeachment and soon after Rowland resigned in disgrace.
So, the moral of the story is to keep piling on the corruption allegations - eventually one of them could stick. Maybe GoldenGate will strike a chord with the public?

(11,686 posts)What should matter is the findings that he has gotten financial assistance from the Russian crime family. THINK about the important part. The Russian crime family presents more danger to us than hookers who perform golden showers to a person who pays them. I think golden showers is sick but I do not think it endangers us like the Russian crime family connections.
