Using the word beautiful in speaking of a funeral isn't necessarily out of place. It's just in a short tweet it comes across as unfeeling and superficial.

(43,182 posts)It's slightly odd but far from the worst grammatical or word choice sin from the man who knows all the best words, like unpresidented and bigly.

(16,079 posts)I just read about Detective McDonald, he was a good man, he forgave the man who shot him!
This was nothing more then a PR game being played by the Trumpenfuhrer's team of propagandists...Trump would have to climb Mt Everest to even kiss the tip of Detective McDonald's shoe!

I forgive him." He hoped his shooter would make something of his life. He said if people wanted forgiveness, they first had to show it to others.
IOW, Steven McDonald's whole life flew right over Donald Trump's head. The proof is he just used the man's funeral to push his law-and-order cred. Shut the fuck up, Donald.

(10,136 posts)usually refers to a service with a lot of attendees, nice flowers, a nice eulogy and a good breakfast afterwards. Come to think of it, "a nice funeral" was more common, and my older relatives who used terms like this were not highly educated and often didn't speak English as a first language.

Let's not become nit-picky to the point where every and any little thing is a federal offense.
Remember, if EVERYTHING is an offence, then NOTHING is an offence.
