Make that a deadly threat to all of humanity. This creature will be sworn in on Jan. 20th, one week from today. And that will give him access to the ability to destroy anyone and everyone who disses him.
If you don't realize that this is an unstable man who can be provoked by any trivial or minor insult, you haven't been paying attention.
Who knows? This is a guy who might order that the "country named Asia" be nuked. Does anyone really beilieve that he knows the difference between a country and a continent? Hell, this is someone who might even order the destruction of "countries" called Chicago, or San Francisco.
Will we quickly reach a point where the Republican congress, most of whom already recognize that he's nuts, would impeach him? Don't hold your breath.
I receive virtually daily requests for donations from the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Moveon, and many, many other liberal organizations that are pleading for funds to try to stop this monster. Unfortunately, I can't send much. But the reality is this. We are screwed beyond repair. This horrible man will do whatever the hell he wants to do and no one will stop him.
I hope this doesn't sound extreme. But in my opinion, this unbalanced person is a threat to humanity (and probably every other life form on planet Earth).
So if you think I'm nuts, let's hear it. And if you agree with me, can you suggest a (legal) way to stop him? Or at the very least slow him down until enough Republicans have had enough?

(22,669 posts)It's a multi-faceted coup d'etat attack on our democracy, their last gasp at exhausting their dirty trick playbook and violating national security in the process. It's their Hail Mary throw the kitchen sink in to sway voters at any cost and cover it up as only they can (illegally).
Republicans care about one thing and one thing only. Money. Power gives them the ability to squeeze more out of America and its citizens. Power gives them the ability to break laws if need be to sell out our resources to the highest bidder. We'll have to pick up the pieces in 4 years, if we're still here that is.

(15,035 posts)Many Republican ideologues probably hate Russia more than anything else. They're fanatical on the subject. For many of them, the "Cold War" never ended and they want it to pick up where it left off.
Yes, they are hypocrites and horrible pricks. Money and power may equal their hatred of Russia. But here's their problem. This is an issue they've peddled to their voters for decades. And their voters have gobbled it up. These slimy Republicans dare not dismount from the tiger they are riding.
