What to wear to a protest march

Thousands are expected to come to Washington DC on January 21st to march on the first day of incoming President Donald Trump’s administration. As someone who lives in the area and attended rallies and inaugurations at this time of year I can tell you it’s going to be cold, you’re going to be on your feet for a long while, and basic necessities like bathrooms and bottled water are few and far between. What’s a woman to wear when sending a message to the government that women’s rights are human rights?

My Denver Womens March 2017 sweat shirt just arrived today and I love it. Wish I could post a photo of it but I don't have a Smartphone and can't find an image online. But the design is wonderful and I will be so proud. Unfortunately, I got a large because I have a long torso and I wanted a lose fit and was afraid if I washed it it would be too short, but it's huge, although I'm sure it will draw up a lot in the dryer. It's perfect to wear over a turtle neck, though.

Now I'm just waiting for my pink pussy hat I ordered from Etsy and I'll be all set.

I ordered it a long time ago and it took a while to get here. It was pricey but it's made well and looks really warm.

Carry a couple of cotton handkerchiefs or bandannas. They have tons of uses and even more should the march turn negative.

Soak in water and tie over your mouth and nose for a short term tear gas attack...until you can get away. Use them to stop any bleeding from injuries or overzealous police attacks. Wrap your hands up if you need to punch out a window for survival.

And here's a freebie.
In the event that pepper spray is deployed, use Coke to decontaminate. Sure it's sticky but it will stop the burn faster than water alone. Use Coke then rinse with water.

I'd been keeping it in my head til then. The only thing I added after reading her article was medicine for 24 hours, Just In Case.
