Why does Donny want us to work with Russians but not Muslims?
(sarcasm ahead... in some places)
Trump has a lot of talk about wanting us to work with Putin, having some sort of alliance with Putin, that we can do great things if we work together, etc.
Then take his tweets on Muslims; described as a threat, crowing that he was "right" on terrorism, wants his watchlist (NOT a database... according to him), incorrectly said there are no Muslims in US sports, and, perhaps very disturbingly, said the UK has a "Muslim problem".
So, why though?
Or like this... Why aren't we supposed to work with Muslims the same way he wants us to work with Russians?
Aren't they the refugees from Daesh's violence? Seems to me they have a lot more to lose.
Aren't they ones who are shedding the most blood when it comes to Daesh? The ones fighting Daesh and getting killed by them are the ones struggling to keep "Islamic State" away from them? Does Donald not see that?
And then there's another issue, one that Russia can't solve.
When non-Muslims, (esp. the Adam Lanza's, Jason Dalton's, the Ivan Lopez's, the Robert Lewis Dear's, the Dylann Roof's, etc.) do violence; people in the media and the government seem to jump right to mental illness, oh they can't find a job, drug problems, things they can't control.
When Muslims do violence; it's ban them, bomb a country, lock them all up, all the violent attacks by Muslims are connected by people in some nebulous web, advocating to kick them all out, database them all, etc. No discussion of mental illness or alienation from these same actors. Why is that? As far I know, the only non-Muslim charged in connection with an Islamic terrorist attack or attempted terrorist attack, Joshua Ryne Goldberg, is the only one to my knowledge to be deemed unfit for trial. Coincidence?
I'm sure plenty of Muslim Americans out there would be more than happy to help with the Mentally Ill Non-Muslims Getting Guns And Shooting People issue this country has, because it looks like Muslims are immune to mental illness and all.
What's Putin going to give us that Muslims can't... Free polonium for dissidents?
