Bruce Springsteen cover band cancels plans to play at Trump inauguration gala

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/01/bruce-springsteen-cover-band-cancels-plans-to-play-at-trump-inauguration-gala/

The list of musicians who are performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration festivities just got even smaller.

The B Street Band, a highly regarded Bruce Springsteen cover band, has announced that it will not perform at the Garden State Presidential Inaugural Gala in New Jersey.

“With deepest apologies to our fans and the New Jersey Inaugural Ball committee, the B Street Band is withdrawing from performing at this year’s inauguration Gala,” the band said in a statement cited by Backstreets. “Our decision is based SOLELY on the respect and gratitude we have for Bruce and the E Street Band.”

The B Street Band performed at President Obama’s inaugural celebrations in 2009 and 2013, and were asked to perform at the 2017 ceremony before they knew who the new president would be. The band members said that they would back out of performing at Trump’s inauguration if the Boss asked them to, and it seems Springsteen wasn’t comfortable with them playing his music at anything related to celebrating Trump’s electoral victory.

The band has insisted that it’s not at all political, although it says it’s received a torrent of negative feedback after news broke that it would play at the inauguration.

Yup! It's Myron Floren and Lawrence Welk with an accordion duet!!!! The Drumpf fans would faint! And the girls would scream with every body gyration (accordion to reports).

What? You say that they're both dead? Well Alex Jones said that was a false flag and they are both well and both comfortingly living in Joplin, MO.

Maybe she is still too young to understand what he represents or has Trumpista parents that have brought her up brainwashed.

I just remember being blown away by hearing her years ago as a young girl singing opera on America's Got Talent. So pure a voice, like a little angel. Maybe that's why it seems such a disconnect.

The real Springsteen let them know, discreetly, but in no uncertain terms, that they would be the objects of a heavily enforced, and highly publicized, cease-and-desist order from The Boss himself to ever perform any of his songs in public again if they associated themselves with any Trump function.

Not sure what 'Golden Throats' is but it seems to fit the times now.

Scott Baio - "What Was In That Kiss" Golden Throats! (Merv Griffin Show 1982)

He starts off sounding like Christopher Walken.

I wonder if Bruce did actually contact them.

My husband and I were saying last week that Bruce should consider asking them not to play, but also offering to pay them the fee they're missing out on to skip it. That won't cover all their losses, but will help. Not only does a band's reputation take a hit for backing out of a gig, especially at the last minute, but B Street is also going to take a lot of heat from many of their fans.

Loads of Bruce's own so-called fans disowned him when he began speaking out directly in the Bush years. Many of them were shocked that he was a Democrat, which just goes to show you they weren't really paying attention.

Same with the B Streeters. How hard would it have been to figure that Bruce wouldn't want his music being any part of Drumpf's inauguration festivities? He's publically called the P-elect dangerous and a moron.

Bruce Springsteen says Donald Trump presidency gives him special 'kind of fear'

“I've felt disgust before, but never the kind of fear that you feel now,” Springsteen told Marc Maron on his WTF podcast.

“It's as simple as the fear of, is someone simply competent enough to do this particular job? Do they simply have the pure competence to be put in the position of such responsibility?”
“When you let that genie out of the bottle - bigotry, racism, intolerance, they don't go back in the bottle that easily if they go back in at all,” he continued. “Whether it's a rise in hate crimes, people feeling they have license to speak and behave in ways that previously were considered un-American and are un-American. That's what he's appealing to. My fears are that those things find a place in ordinary, civil society.”

No where other than this one right here have I read or heard of the B street band. I'm a huge Springsteen fan and have been since day one. Never have I heard or read anything 'B' band associated with the Boss.

Methinks someone is trying to stir up shit.

No one that has anything to do with Bruce Springsteen will ever even consider a gig for tRump, No One.

The Boss and the E Street Band played for Obama, not a B band to be found.
