Now the republicans are pleading, demanding bipartisonship.

Trying to neutralize the Loyal Opposition.

Reminds me of my father (an authoritarian) who repeatedly made the case for "compromise" which meant stop protesting and challenging me, and do it my way. Only my way.

It's a common officeplace archetype, in fact, the person who's praised for resolving conflicts but actually shuts them down without actually resolving anything. The effect is to empower one side of the issue while stifling the other, quickly leading to resentment and promising further conflict down the line.

But hey, it makes the "conflict resolver" look great in the meantime, and the resentful dissenter can be cast as the troublemaker who isn't willing to let things go, so everybody wins.

on the table. kelly westlund did her damnedest to beat that asshole, and got zip help from the party. they left her howling in the wilderness, because she wouldnt accept their preferred campaign manager.

i will never forget jim doyle, on the night of the wis primary in '08, nearly in tears at how the obama campaign came in and just fit in where they were needed w/o pushing people around/out.
this is the party we need.

the saddest part was how they got away w portraying the race as the whole party, obama and pelosi on down, trying to stifle the will of the local people.
they were "all behind her". with the exception of tammy baldwin, there was no one from the party behind her. no one.

her county was one of the only rural blue counties in wis. she got 40% of the vote. how damn hard is it to get another 10%?

Wisconsin was the prototype for what's happening now nationally. The Koch brother's/John Birch Society's dry run (because no one outside of Wisconsin gave a shit what was happening in our State).

We now have had 3 rigged elections here in Wisconsin, and have lost our State Legislature AND Supreme Court. We had over 100,000 people march on Madison several times, and the media said it was 10,000 to 30,000. And that Walker is very popular (a lie). Again, we lost our Supreme Court, this after one of our SC judges, the one running for office, strangled a Democratic judge with his bare hands in public, and it was caught on tape. Oddly, he still won. We have nothing here. We take what we get.

Yep. It worked in Wisconsin with Walker. Now the plan has gone national. They know we won't do anything of consequence about blatant cheating. They know it. They've tried it and it worked.

There is nothing about Republicans that I find trustworthy. Those that still have a conscience are going to have an uphill battle to convince us otherwise.
