Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.
As it turns out, that may have been an understatement. Human rights lawyer Scott Horton, whose work in the region goes back to defending Andrei Sakharov and other Soviet dissidents, has gone through a series of studies by the Financial Times to show how funds from Russian crime lords bailed Trump out after yet anther bankruptcy. The conclusions are stark.
Among the powerful facts that DNI missed were a series of very deep studies published in the [Financial Times] that examined the structure and history of several major Trump real estate projects from the last decadethe period after his seventh bankruptcy and the cancellation of all his bank lines of credit. ...
The money to build these projects flowed almost entirely from Russian sources. In other words, after his business crashed, Trump was floated and made to appear to operate a successful business enterprise through the infusion of hundreds in millions of cash from dark Russian sources.
He was their man.
Can you imagine if this were Hillary we were learning about?

(18,652 posts)That's pretty much how it works.
And, even when the Dems don't break any laws, they'll make ones up just for the occasion. (See: Hillary email)
Their press and surrogates will repeat the lies (either pro-repub or anti-dem) ad naseum, and all their followers eyes will glass over and they'll drool agreement. And, when the *real* press stands up to correct the fallacy they'll be laughed off as the lamestream, liberal media.
Rinse. Repeat.
It's turned into an alt-reality cult.
The cycle HAS to stop, or Dems will NEVER hold power again. Ever.
The question is, though, how do you stop it?

(2,037 posts)Like most corporate bosses, they've been itching for an extreme kind of GOP regime that would basically cut their taxes down to zero (or better yet, a negative effective tax rate) and let them offshore everything with no regulations.

(789 posts)(1) Trump was in financial trouble up to his eyeballs circa 1990's
(2) Person or Persons unknown, most likely from Russia, agreed to bail him out.
(3) The 'insurance marker' created to make sure Trump made good on his note (via blackmail) is most likely a sexually compromising recording.
(4) The Russian hierarchy saw an opportunity during the 2016 election to get their hooks deeper into the US by aiding and abetting Trump's victory, knowing full well that Trump would do as Russia told him to because of #3 above.
(5) Trump and our election were compromised by a foreign government and are thus null and void.
If this isn't obvious to the most casual observer by now, then they are willfully blind.

(13,466 posts)A Democrat would have been hounded by the media long before this point.
We really can't get any media action on this organized crime figure that is about to become President. We are supposed to just be Democrats "crying" who need to "get over it". SHIT!

(9,213 posts)They all are too much about being career politicians themselves so nobody is willing to put themselves on the line. This makes me wonder If we could ever impeach him for anything. He probably really could shoot somebody and they wouldn't do anything. This is insane.

(60,010 posts)Meet Wilbur Ross, who once bailed out Trump in Atlantic City and is now his pick for Commerce secretary
Ross, then an investment banker working for Rothschild Inc., helped bondholders negotiate with Trump, whose finances were unraveling. The final deal reduced Trumps ownership stake in the Taj but left him in charge, and bondholders were unhappy when Ross presented the plan.
This is Trump's business pattern....he borrows lots of money ( originally on his father's reputation), spends the income from his projects, fails to pay off the loans, then gets bailed out.
He then gives up the properties in exchange for living expenses and the use of his name on the properties, tho why that charade has lasted so long is bewildering.
however, Trump long ago stated that the trick to wealth is O.P.M.---Other People's Money.

(790 posts)why the trumpster was weighing in on Obama's birthplace back then. He really had no dog in the fight back in 2008. But your speculation sure fits the timeline.

(22,976 posts)Trump, September, 2016: Discussed his 2013 trip to Moscow in an interview on Hugh Hewitt's show. I was with the top-level people, both oligarchs and generals, and top of the government people. I cant go further than that, but I will tell you that I met the top people, and the relationship was extraordinary."
FACT: Trump has repeatedly sought business in Russia as far back as 1987. I have no dealings with Russia...I have no deals that could happen in Russia because weve stayed away.
INCURIOUS, FAT, GREASY LIAR.

(9,350 posts)Timothy O' Brien, the author of Trump Nation wrote that Mark Burnett also helped to bail out Donald Trump. O'Brien claimed, in Trump Nation, that before the launch of The Apprentice Trump was almost broke. O' Brien went on to claim that once The Apprentice started Trump signed a number of licensing deal that brought him new money.

(5,810 posts)It is just a matter of time before he gets smacked up side his pumpkin head with the evidence. Even his most loyal followers will see and know how he played them and tried to do the same with those of us not so gullible. Whether they will abandon their "hero/savior" remains to be seen, but enough of the rest of us will turn the tide against the liar in chief. May that be sooner rather than later.
