Peter Thiel, the Silicon Valley billionaire and outspoken Donald Trump supporter, is considering a 2018 bid for California governor, according to three Republicans familiar with his thinking.

Thiel, who co-founded PayPal and was an early investor in Facebook, has been discussing a prospective bid with a small circle of advisers, including Rob Morrow, who has emerged as his political consigliere.

There is also Mayor of San Diego Kevin Faulkner who I'd keep an eye on more than that Thiel.
Kevin disguises his rightwing fairly well.

Neither have a chance against Newsom though. Especially if they both run and split the vote.

This next gubernatorial election is going to be ugly.
Fellow Californians are saying Gavin Newsom is a Shoo–in.
I don't think so. He has a marital affair on his record, that they will probably focus on.
And while that would be perfectly fine—and probably refreshing—for a GOP candidate, it makes for murky waters for a Democratic candidate.

That the ruskies aren't "ALLOWED" by a tRumputin DOJ to start some shenanigans into OUR elections out here in Deep Blue California in 2018 via voting machines and via absentee ballots which "MAY" come up missing. What if Comey is STILL head of the FBI, and what if he comes up with "something" horrible on Gavin Newsome (IF the Dem Governor Nominee) DURING the election that's a BOLD FACE LIE and jumps into our governors race like he jumped into the GE with Hillary which helped to cost her the GE, then after his 2nd Coup d'état gets crooked Thiel into the governorship then says on November 10th 2018 "We've completed our investigations into the charges bought up against Mr. Newsome, and the intel we had on Gavin Newsome and found him to be not guilty of any OF the charges leveled against him, and he's fully exonerated." Yea, clean bill of health, oh and sorry 'bout that California and Mr. Newsome, better luck next time," What recourse would we have then? WHOSE to stop the ruskies from cyber-hacking into OUR voting machines/voting equipment which could mean that find just enough of our absentee ballots "go missing" which would then allow crooked Thiel to win California and turn it a nasty shade of red again. IF nothing ELSE, Dems have to start getting things ready now to make sure that we're not able to be cyber-hacked like those other states that went red on election day by about 75,000 votes which helped elect the devil as 45th ....I can't even call him that word which begins with a p and ends with a t.

Yes, we have a super majority out here in California, but I put NOTHING past tRumputin, a tRumputin DOJ, the GOP or past tRumputin's puppet master and evil blackmailer putin tang and his rotten cyber-hench-people. A friend laughed and told me that I'm being too paranoid when we spoke about Thiel's announcement to run for Governor of California this past Monday. I then asked him: WHO'D have thought what happened with the ruskies/putin being ALLOWED to interfere into our GE the way they did? WHO'D have thought that our own FBI chief would be in on the farce and lay his whole body across the scales of justice in favor of putin's stooge? WHO'D have thought that tRumputin would be installed as the 45th president of the United States of America by a foreign entity and have access to the Nuclear Codes .....

He stopped me and put his head down and said "I SEE your point."
