Ivanka Trump: Speculation Over First Lady Role Inappropriate

Ivanka Trump said speculation that she would take on the traditional first lady duties is off base, even as her stepmother Melania Trump will delay moving to Washington at least until mid-2017.

President-elect Donald Trump's eldest daughter told ABC News' "20/20" that such chatter was "an inappropriate observation."

"There is one first lady, and she'll do remarkable things," Ivanka Trump said in an interview that will air Thursday night.

Ivanka Trump has stepped away from her role at the Trump Organization, where she was a vice president, and has resigned from running her eponymous lifestyle brand. And while her husband, Jared Kushner, is expected to serve as a formal, if unpaid, advisor to the president, Ivanka Trump's official role in the new administration has yet to be announced.

"It's emotional," she said. "I'm stepping away from my business ... My father will be president, and hopefully, I can be there to support him and to support those causes I've cared about my whole professional career."

In a draft of Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen’s piece, “Our Next President, The Godfather,” Cohen wrote that President-Elect Donald Trump once asked, “Is it wrong to be more sexually attracted to your own daughter than your wife?” However, the quote was removed before the column was published Tuesday, reported BuzzFeed News.

Trump was allegedly referred to his daughter, Ivanka, who was 13 years old at the time.

5. What I'm wondering is how this resonated with the evangelicals

Because, damn. How can they pretend their Christ is being represented by this man?! I'm not being snide here, I'm serious. I really don't get this train of thought.

For the trolls, yes, I know evangelical people personally, and no, they haven't given me a real answer. Saying "prayers" is not an answer.

He's never even cried on TV proclaiming himself a "sinner" in need of forgiving.

He's never played their game, but he's their man? It's insane.

...they're already quite accustomed to twisting and contorting to present the thinnest veneer of "OK" on the most unpalatable. When you can convince yourself to believe you've got the inside track with the Almighty, nothing is out of reach, you can rationalize ANYTHING.
