My dad was a dentist outside Nashville who had a reputation for being meticulous when it came to making dentures. Because of that, all kinds of people came to him for dentures. One of those folks was Roy Orbison. Roy was so pleased he has our family to his house for a Christmas party, this was in the 80's. I was a little kid but I've seen the pictures from that night and I can still remember flashes from that night, one of which was meeting Johnny Cash. Cash was Orbison's neighbor and came over for the party. I just remember this larger than life grandfather teddy bear who had so much joy and love. Orbison, I remember as being quiet and sad. My dad told me that he was an extremely private man and how he had never gotten over the fact that two of his sons had been killed in a house fire years earlier.
